Midwest Security's 21st Annual Family Run/Walk, held April 21, 2002, raised over $75,000.00 after expenses for the American Cancer Society to help those touched by cancer.
Midwest Security was acquired by UnitedHealthcare, a UnitedHealth Group company, on October 1st. The combined companies result in a strengthened regional and local market position, increasing customer access and choice. The expanded, complimentary product lines will enable optimal service to a growing customer base with diverse needs and demands. UnitedHealth Group is a publicly held, Fortune 100 company employing over 30,000 people nationwide and is traded on the NYSE (symbol UNH). UnitedHealthcare is based in Minnetonka, Minnesota.

The 24th annual Midwest Security/American Cancer Society 5K Family Run/Walk took place on April 17, 2005. The event brought in over $92,000 before expenses for the American Cancer Society. Midwest Security employee teams raised an all-time high of over $25,000 from fundraisers and pledges.
Midwest Security Life Insurance Company and Midwest Security Administrators began marketing benefit plans and TPA services in Nebraska for the first time.

The event was held April 22, 2007 and raised over $85,800 before expenses for the American Cancer Society. The 27th Annual American Cancer Society/UnitedHealthcare Family Run/Walk, held on April 20 on the Midwest Security grounds in Onalaska, Wisconsin, raised over $106,000 before expenses to support the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer - a new record for this event! Once again, UnitedHealthcare's Midwest Security employees were the top fundraising team, raising over $21,300. Over 60 area corporate teams and nearly 1,600 registered runners and walkers participated.
In May 2008, Midwest Security Administrators announced that it was joining with United Medical Resources and Fiserv Health to become UMR, the national TPA business line for UnitedHealthcare. UMR becomes a single national business unit providing integrated health benefit management for self-funded, dental, vision, disability and medical plans. As UMR, Midwest Security Administrators, Fiserv Health, and United Medical Resources will unify their focus to deliver on the organization's five points of value: cost savings, flexibility, caring service, intelligent technology, and unique solutions for unique businesses.
